The Ernest Cook Trust has awarded Northern Architecture an £8,000 grant supporting its education programme in 2012/13. Northern Architecture’s education programme works with school children, teachers and young people outside of schools. Our work shows how architecture and the built environment can be used as a valuable tool for learning key curriculum skills in science, technology, maths, geography and history as well as valuable skills in critical and creative thinking through creative projects focused around the built environment, design, construction and engineering.
The grant will be used to increase Northern Architecture’s capacity to work with schools, subsidise workshops and CPD for teachers and help us develop mini workshops that can be used to reach a greater number of young people.
