Building for Life is an assessment criteria widely used in the public sector to judge the design quality of new homes and neighbourhoods. Within each local authority in the region there is a trained Building for Life Assessor. However, the principles are very accessible and the scheme encourages lay people to use the assessment criteria to informally assess and understand new or proposed housing in their local area.
This one-day or three evenings course covers an introduction to the Building for Life criteria, a site visit to apply the criteria and learn how to conduct a Building for Life assessment and a guide to scoring and providing evidence for your assessment.
